Deliverance from Bug & Self-Will

Kaile Hamilton - 05/29/2010

The Lord has put it on my heart to share this awesome testimony with all of you and I pray that it blesses all who read it.

On the afternoon of the 29th, I went outside to take the trash out and came back inside, just as I always have, but about 15-20 minutes after I came inside, I heard a scratching noise in my left ear. I was reminded that I had just returned from outside and that it was probably a bug. I then thought to myself, well, I don't accept that because I am no longer under the curse and no harm shall befall me. So I tried to forget about the scratching noise and that it may have been a bug but about five or so minutes later I started to hear the scratching noise and then felt movement in my ear. Clearly, I did indeed have a bug in my ear. I began to rebuke it and command it to leave my ear in the name of Jesus.

Periodically, over the next hour, I would feel the bug move and occasionally bite in my ear. I was beginning to become very frustrated and desperate for the Lord to deliver me from the bug.

Then, the Lord reminded me that it was in my left ear. I thought, hmm, that's interesting. I then remembered this passage: (Mat.25:31) But when the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the angels with him, then shall he sit on the throne of his glory: (32) and before him shall be gathered all the nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as the shepherd separateth the sheep from the goats; (33) and he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Initially, I didn't understand what would cause this bug to fly into my left ear because I knew that I always try to live my life according to the Word.

Many hours later and many fleshly attempts (i.e. washing my ear out with saline and using tweezers) to retrieve the bug from my ear, the Lord revealed to me why this bug was allowed to enter my ear and stay there.

(A few days before, I had sought the Lord's direction whether to do something or not. I had an impression that it was not His will but I wanted to seek confirmation in the Word. I opened the Bible that I had at hand [KJV] and placed my finger down on Nahum 3:8, which says: Art thou better than populous No, that was situate among the rivers, that had the waters round about it, whose rampart was the sea, and her wall was from the sea? First, I thought, okay, He is telling me no, but I then thought that I should seek for more confirmation. After that confirmation, no matter how many times I sought His will and more confirmation, I received none.)

The Lord reminded me of His will being made known but my continued self-will to hear a different answer. It was clear to me that a bug was allowed to fly into my ear because He was trying to send me a message to listen to Him and the left ear because it is associated with unrighteousness. I repented of this sin and asked Him to forgive me. Shortly thereafter, I saw something fly out of my ear and I did not have any more pain or scratching in my ear. Praise the Lord! He delivered me from the bug and self-will! Thank you, Lord!

(Isa.42:16) And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do to them, and not forsake them. Praise the Lord for His lovingkindness for leading us in the way that we should go when we have our hearts toward Him!
