Door into the Bride IS Closing
(David's notes in red)

Michael Hare - 08/23/2013

On August, 23, 2013 the Word of the Lord came to me in the morning prayer time while praying in the Spirit and said, "I am closing the gate. The gate is closing. Humble yourselves and come unto Me before the gate closes. The gate is closing".

I believe the Lord meant the gate into the Bride is closing now and very soon it will be closed. (The Bride is the high calling of God in Christ. They will follow the Man-child from the beginning when He is anointed, according to type when John the Baptist said, "He that hath the Bride is the Bridegroom". This is also the new leadership under the Davids in Zion.)

I asked the Lord for a Word concerning His Word on the gates closing and received (Rom.6:11) Even so reckon ye also yourselves to be dead unto sin, but alive unto God in Christ Jesus. (12) Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey the lusts thereof: (13) neither present your members unto sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves unto God, as alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. (14) For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under law, but under grace.

Merlene Laughlin - 08/23/2013

As Michael had spoken his word that the Lord had given him this morning about "the door was closing", at the very last part of that I saw very heavy old hinges, ancient hinges moving slowly. I did not see the door, only the hinges as they moved. And then I knew that Jesus was weeping as He saw people turn and walk away from the gate. I only saw a glimpse of four people's backs but did not see who they were. (As I thought on this, I do not doubt there could be four people who are in the running for the Bride that Merlene knows locally who are in danger of missing their calling. But also for larger UBM the law of first mention for the number 4 is significant: {Gen.1:15} and let them be for lights in the firmament of heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. {16} And God made the two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: [he made] the stars also. {17} And God set them in the firmament of heaven to give light upon the earth, {18} and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. {19} And there was evening and there was morning, a fourth day. On the fourth day, the greater light is the Sun, a symbol of the Son of God and the Son manifested in the Man-child. The lesser light, the Moon, represents the Bride who will rule by night. Jesus said, "The night cometh when no Man can work". In Joseph's dream in Genesis 37:9-11, the head of the house was his father and his mother was the Moon who brought forth the fruit and his 11 brethren, the children, were the stars.

After being at home a short time, I prayed for these people. Asking the Lord for verses, I received Jeremiah 7:1-7. (In effect, this connected the word and vision of the door to the Bride closing to the text Merlene first shared in that morning prayer meeting in answer to a request for a word for the body - Jeremiah 6:12,13 - because Jeremiah 7:1-7 warns the people He was judging in Jeremiah 6 that they would not enter the gate of the Temple of the Lord, whom He proclaims to be the righteous, if they did not repent! I was impressed that this text is not only about the apostates and factious but that it speaks of some in larger UBM who justify themselves because they are among us while they do not obey the Word. I want to examine this text but first I want to say that months ago I shared some messages about the Bride being chosen before the tribulation because the seven-day Marriage Feast represents the seven-year tribulation and obviously the Bride is chosen before the Marriage Feast. I received from the Lord that the doors would soon close to be in the Bride and escape the tribulation Beast, as Esther and the Shulammite in Song of Solomon did. After this, many miracles confirmed these messages.

The word and vision above now confirm that the gates are closing to be in the Bride. The opportunity to be in the Bride is now closing. Then Merlene spoke up that she saw the hinges on the gate moving and people walking away from the gate. She received the Jeremiah 6:10-15 context three different days, all within a few days, by random. We heard from this text that many have been dealt with in their conscience to obey the voice of the Lord concerning some disobedience and have justified it or excused it and now He will do as He has done to others and turn them over to the beast nature and then under dominion to the world Beast.

I remembered the dream my wife had many years ago about us being on a treadmill (which is like the world going in the opposite direction) and the door closing up ahead and I went through first and snatched her through at the last minute. Please listen and obey all of the scriptures for these are what we are judged by; disobedience to these are closing the gates to many. In Scripture, New Jerusalem and fallen Old Jerusalem are parables of two cities and two peoples today, whom God wants to separate the true Bride from the false, so she may shine forth in the Kingdom of our Father. To have knowledge and reject it is far worse than to never have it, for the Lord says, "To whom much is given much is expected".

{Jer.6:1} Flee for safety (the true Bride will dwell in safety), ye children of Benjamin, out of the midst of Jerusalem (come out of apostate Jerusalem, those who go astray and lead God's people to do so), and blow the trumpet in Tekoa, and raise up a signal on Beth-haccherem; for evil looketh forth from the north, and a great destruction (The Beast comes from the north to take captive the flesh of God's people. Preparations are being made all around us.). {2} The comely and delicate one, the daughter of Zion, will I cut off. {3} Shepherds with their flocks shall come unto her; they shall pitch their tents against her round about; they shall feed every one in his place. (Apostate leaders who work for the Beast will capture those who disobey and are robbed of their understanding.) {4} Prepare ye war against her; arise, and let us go up at noon. Woe unto us! for the day declineth, for the shadows of the evening are stretched out (darkness is now at hand). {5} Arise, and let us go up by night, and let us destroy her palaces. (Those who dwell in darkness will plunder those who go astray) {6} For thus hath Jehovah of hosts said, Hew ye down trees, and cast up a mound against Jerusalem: this is the city to be visited; she is wholly oppression in the midst of her. {7} As a well casteth forth its waters, so she casteth forth her wickedness: violence and destruction is heard in her; before me continually is sickness and wounds (Those who declare themselves to be leaders among God's people but walk in sin blaspheme the name of Christ.). {8} Be thou instructed (humble yourself to the commands you already know), O Jerusalem, lest my soul be alienated from thee; lest I make thee a desolation, a land not inhabited. {9} Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, They shall thoroughly glean the remnant of Israel as a vine: turn again thy hand as a grape-gatherer into the baskets.

Merlene's warning to the Church:

{10} To whom shall I speak and testify, that they may hear? behold, their ear is uncircumcised (flesh is not rejected by their ears), and they cannot hearken (If you have ever heard from in your conscience of a sin in you and you continue in it, just remember that God did not change His mind but He will give you your way until judgment comes.): behold, the word of Jehovah is become unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it (these lay aside the Word for one that suits their flesh). {11} Therefore I am full of the wrath of Jehovah; I am weary with holding in: pour it out upon the children in the street, and upon the assembly of young men together; for even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the aged with him that is full of days (those who believe they are mature but disobey will be taken by the spirit of the Beast). {12} And their houses shall be turned unto others, their fields and their wives together (The place where you once lived in God will be given over to the Beast. The land of promise you once had will be given to wickedness and from what I have seen, you will not even know it happened but the righteous will see it.); for I will stretch out my hand upon the inhabitants of the land, saith Jehovah. {13} For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them every one is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely. {14} They have healed also the hurt of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace (they preach peace to the wicked but the Lord said there is no peace to the wicked). {15} Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush (their innocence, along with their conscience, is seared): therefore they shall fall among them that fall; at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith Jehovah.

{16} Thus saith Jehovah, Stand ye in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way; and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls: but they said, We will not walk [therein]. {17} And I set watchmen over you, [saying], Hearken to the sound of the trumpet; but they said, We will not hearken (They refuse to hear the warnings of the coming judgment of the Beast upon them.). {18} Therefore hear, ye nations, and know, O congregation, what is among them. {19} Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts (what they have thought of others will come upon them; they will reap what they have sown), because they have not hearkened unto my words; and as for my law, they have rejected it. {20} To what purpose cometh there to me frankincense from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a far country? your burnt-offerings are not acceptable, nor your sacrifices pleasing unto me ("obedience is better than sacrifice"). {21} Therefore thus saith Jehovah, Behold, I will lay stumbling-blocks before this people; and the fathers and the sons together shall stumble against them; the neighbor and his friend shall perish (they will be offended, as the Jews were, against anyone sent from God). {22} Thus saith Jehovah, Behold, a people cometh from the north country; and a great nation shall be stirred up from the uttermost parts of the earth. {23} They lay hold on bow and spear; they are cruel, and have no mercy; their voice roareth like the sea, and they ride upon horses, every one set in array, as a man to the battle, against thee, O daughter of Zion. (In Joel chapters 1 and 2, righteous Jerusalem was spared the Beast from the north but here the wicked among the Bride are conquered by the Beast who is described in the same way.) {24} We have heard the report thereof; our hands wax feeble: anguish hath taken hold of us, [and] pangs as of a woman in travail (a righteous fruit will be born out of the old cow). {25} Go not forth into the field, nor walk by the way; for the sword of the enemy, [and] terror, are on every side (there will be no place to hide from God). {26} O daughter of my people, gird thee with sackcloth, and wallow thyself in ashes: make thee mourning, as for an only son, most bitter lamentation; for the destroyer shall suddenly come upon us (and with no blood on the doorposts because they did not eat the Lamb, the Word). {27} I have made thee a trier [and] a fortress among my people; that thou mayest know and try their way. {28} They are all grievous revolters, going about with slanders; they are brass and iron: they all of them deal corruptly. {29} The bellows blow fiercely; the lead is consumed of the fire: in vain do they go on refining; for the wicked are not plucked away (the slag is not rejected by them). {30} Refuse silver shall men call them, because Jehovah hath rejected them (and when they are rejected, they won't know it or believe it).

Merlene's confirmation that the gates are closing to separate:

{7:1} The word that came to Jeremiah from Jehovah, saying, {2} Stand in the gate of Jehovah's house, and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear the word of Jehovah, all ye of Judah, that enter in at these gates to worship Jehovah. {3} Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place (meaning if you repent you will be in the Temple of God). {4} Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of Jehovah, the temple of Jehovah, the temple of Jehovah, are these. {5} For if ye thoroughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye thoroughly execute justice between a man and his neighbor; {6} if ye oppress not the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods (other Elohim, another Jesus) to your own hurt: {7} then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land (of the promises) that I gave to your fathers, from of old even for evermore. (Jeremiah, standing in the gate, told them to repent and they would be able to go through the gate.)

{8} Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit. {9} Will ye steal (they are so seared in conscience that they justify theft), murder ({1Jn.3:15} Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.), and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods that ye have not known, {Jer.7:10} and come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered; that ye may do all these abominations? ("We are covered by the blood, so we can keep on sinning against God and His people".) {11} Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, I, even I, have seen it, saith Jehovah (they act as though God doesn't see). {12} But go ye now unto my place which was in Shiloh, where I caused my name to dwell at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel. {13} And now, because ye have done all these works, saith Jehovah, and I spake unto you, rising up early and speaking, but ye heard not; and I called you, but ye answered not: {14} therefore will I do unto the house which is called by my name, wherein ye trust, and unto the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I did to Shiloh. {15} And I will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brethren, even the whole seed of Ephraim. {16} Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me; for I will not hear thee. {17} Seest thou not what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem? (Brethren, is there any sin that God has convicted you of in the past that you still do while you justify it? He has not changed His mind; your conscience is seared and you cannot hear. Please make everything right with God and your fellow man so you may be in His Bride.)

Merlene Laughlin - 09/09/2013

A dream of being on Sonshine Mountain in the prayer room. David, Michael, Don and myself were there. We were sitting in our usual chairs, except for David. His chair was next to Michael's, instead of near the kitchen doorway. (The time for preparing the spiritual food is almost up.)

It seemed that there was something that we were pondering, like a dream or some scripture that was really important. (We have been warning that the Bride company is almost sealed because the door is closing.)

The only words spoken were as follows: Don said, "Well, just because ... doesn't mean "...

David and I leaned forward and said at the same time, "That's exactly what it means".

Now during this time, Michael had his legs stretched out and his hands behind his head, with his eyes closed. (It's time to enter the rest.)

I remembered a relief, as something had been solved. (The solution is about to come; the foundation is almost laid. Because of holiness manifested through love and resulting obedience, the Bride is almost ready for the seven-day/year Marriage Feast.) Perhaps the dream would have continued if the dryer hadn't buzzed. (The alarm is about to sound. The dryer warns when the clothes are finished and ready to wear. When the Bride's clothes or works are ready for the seven-year tribulation, time to be in her corporate body is up.)

Attaining to or Missing the Bride
David Eells - 09/04/2013
(David's notes in revelations in red)

On August 30, the Lord gave our morning prayer meeting some answers. We asked about the four people in Merlene's vision who'd walked away from the gate into the Bride when she saw Jesus was crying. The Lord gave me by random, {Est.9:18} But the Jews that were in Shushan (the palace and place of the Bride) assembled together on the thirteenth [day] thereof, and on the fourteenth thereof; and on the fifteenth [day] of the same they rested, and made it a day of feasting and [gladness]. They assembled together in the place of the Bride on the 14th day, which is the day of the Passover in Exodus 12.

Michael Hare got by random, {Pro.18:1} He that separateth himself seeketh [his own] desire, And rageth against all sound wisdom.

This verse was then spoken to someone in the prayer meeting: {Jud.19} These are they who make separations, sensual, having not the Spirit.

As I was writing this, the Lord said, "So much the more as you see the day drawing near". When I heard this, I had a momentary lapse of memory concerning the text and address that went with this. Here it is: {Heb.10:25} not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting [one another]; and so much the more, as ye see the day drawing nigh. (The Lord has told us the door is now closing to enter the Bride. A sister was shown the arm of the Lord sticking through the gate with an ALARM clock in His hand, so the day is drawing near and we need to gather even more so.) {26} For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more a sacrifice for sins, {27} but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and a fierceness of fire which shall devour the adversaries.

In that prayer meeting, we also received these texts concerning walking away from the gate, one right after another. These are all about the walk of a person and the fact that it can be diseased and we need to trust in the Lord to heal us. {Pro.16:9} A man's heart deviseth his way; But Jehovah directeth his steps. {20:24} A man's goings are of Jehovah; How then can man understand his way? {2Ch.16:12} And in the thirty and ninth year of his reign Asa was diseased in his feet; his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he sought not to Jehovah, but to the physicians.

The Bride is in love with Jesus, Who said, {Joh.14:15} If ye love me, ye will keep my commandments.

[.] A sister then had this vision: I saw an open door with glaring bright light shining forth. Out of the bright light an arm stretched forward, palm facing up. In the palm of the hand was an alarm clock. The alarm clock looked like one of the old-time clocks with the ears that a hammer goes back and forth when the alarm is going off (they're called twin bell hammer clocks). The alarm was not going off at the time of the vision. (The possibility to be in the Bride is not yet closed but there is alarm.)

I asked for a word today when God brought the vision back to my remembrance: {Dan.11:42} He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries; and the land of Egypt shall not escape. (Meaning those who are in the world or worldly-minded will not escape with the Bride.)

Also, something very interesting happened on Friday the 30th. I laid down to take a nap and set the alarm on my cell phone, as I wanted to sleep for just a short time. I set it for 3:30. I woke up before the alarm went off and looked to see the time. It was 3:27. (Some will awake to righteousness before the alarm goes off, PTL!) I laid there until the alarm went off. I picked up the phone to shut it off and saw that the alarm on my cell phone is an alarm clock like the one I saw in the vision. I am wondering if the numbers 330 might mean something. (300 and 30 are measurements of the ark: {Gen.6:15} And this is how thou shalt make it: the length of the ark three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits. The Bride will be in the ark and the rest of the Church will have to go through a sanctifying process in the waters of death to self.)

I have been thinking a lot on the vision. Time really is getting short. The door will be closed soon. A verse I received from the Lord this morning: {Hos.10:12} Sow to yourselves in righteousness, and reap according to kindness, break up your fallow ground; for it is time to seek the Lord, till he come and rain righteousness upon you. (Breaking your hardened ground means to repent so you can give good ground to the seed of the Word and bear fruit so you can be in the Bride.) I pray we take heed and seek the Lord while there is still time. Time is so short. The clock is ticking and the appointed time is set (the alarm) for the door/gate to close.

William Steenland then had this dream on 8/31/13 about attaining to the Bride: I was driving in a black car (the way of the world, darkness) with my friend, Kevin. We passed a garage and there was a car being worked on. I remember him being so impressed with this car and its ability as we passed it, but I wasn't interested at all (cares of this world choking the seed). {Mar.4:19} And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

We continued up the road and came to a crossing, a main road called Bride. I said, "Oh! Bride! Praise God! Amen! That's a confirmation!" We turned onto this road suddenly. I was no longer in the car with him but was in a white car with David Eells. (The way of righteousness, light. William just recently turned to walk in righteousness.) We were turning onto this highway but there were three cars that wouldn't slow down or let us merge. Then David made an aggressive move and the other cars turned away. This highway went to someone's house. (Ultimately, the Highway of Holiness leads to Zion, the King's house, the Bride, but we have something to learn about Babylon's house and must overcome it on the way.) {Isa.35:8} And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein. {9} No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there: {10} And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

We got out and went right into the house. I was carrying a bag of groceries. I thought we were looking for a way through the house and to the road again. David and I came to a dead end at this hallway. (Even on the highway of holiness the Davids will lead disciples through the Babylonish dead ends stuck in their minds and back to the highway. It is part of our training.) So David went into the cellar (death and burrial to the old way) and out through a door there, landing himself in the back yard (leaving the house). I waited with the groceries to hear from David if that was the right way. He said, "We can go up from here". I thought, Up? as I thought we were looking for the road. (The road leads heavenward after Babylon.) He said, "We can go up through here, up this water spout". There was a water downspout. The downspout had a brick backing separate from the building but right next to it. (The brick could be the manmade part of the gutter which was hewn out of rock that leads from or, in this case, to Jerusalem, the Bride.) I thought to myself, Up the water spout? As I was still thinking about what he said, in the hallway I saw David through the window walk right up the downspout with the brick backing. (David taught his mighty men how to take Zion, the Bride city, by climbing up the watercourse or gutter that flowed out of the city. {2Sa.5:3} So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a covenant with them in Hebron before Jehovah: and they anointed David king over Israel... {6} And the king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, theinhabitants of the land, who spake unto David, saying, Except thou take away the blind and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither; thinking, David cannot come in hither. {7} Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion; the same is the city of David. {8} And David said on that day, Whosoever smiteth the Jebusites, let him get up to the watercourse [or gutter], and smite the lame and the blind, that are hated of David's soul. Wherefore they say, There are the blind and the lame; he cannot come into the house. {9} And David dwelt in the stronghold, and called it the city of David. This symbolized attaining to the Bride by going against the flow of the old man of the land, the Jebusite, and putting him to death.)

Excerpt from HIGHLIGHTS OF ARCHAEOLOGY IN BIBLE LANDS by Fred H. Wight:

Discovery of Jerusalem's watercourse, and indication of how David captured Jerusalem. In the year 1867 Sir Charles Warren discovered what has since been called "Warren's Shaft". This discovery reveals how the ancient Jebusites, who held the fortress of Ophel for so many years, were supplied with water. It also explains how David and his men probably captured the city. As there was no source of water inside their city (except the use of cisterns), the Jebusites resorted to a very clever scheme of engineering to bring the water from the spring Gihon (now called Virgin's Fountain) to a place where it would be available inside the city. A tunnel was cut from the spring's pool to a natural cave located under the city. Then from the end of this tunnel they cut a shaft going perpendicularly from the cave to a place forty feet above. From this spot a sloping passage was cut in the rock, opening out into the city. Thus the women could walk down this upper passageway to the shaft, where they could let their skin buckets down the shaft to get their supply of water, without going outside the city walls. When David desired to capture the Jebusite stronghold, he said to his men, "Whosoever smiteth the Jebusites, let him get up to the gutter [watercourse]" (II Samuel 5:8). Although there is some obscurity about the meaning of the word translated "gutter", it has been generally believed that this tunnel and shaft was the watercourse David was talking about. To ascend into the city by this means would be difficult but not impossible, as it has been done in modern times. Joab with certain of his men doubtless did it, and surprised the city and thus captured it.

David was using both hands (works) and feet (walk), walking right up to the upper floor. (Davids will attain by grace to the highest place in Zion, the Man-child.) (This represents using and having works with your faith. {Jas.2:14} What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? {18} Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.)

I believe that David going up the waterspout represents the fullness of Christ, overcoming. {Eph.4:13} Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: {14} That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive. I thought, How can I do that with these groceries in my hands? And I thought, If he can do it, so can I. (Amen! You brethren can do it! It is with the groceries in our hands that we are capable of doing it, for they are the food of Heaven, the Word of God, that causes us to grow to maturity.)

Satan is doing his best to separate people from the Davids who lead the saints to the Bride city and to get rid of the groceries. The Lord impressed me some months back that His Word (Jesus) in me (which is the groceries) as a David and a sign, was a stone of stumbling and rock of offense. {Isa.8:14} And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. {Rom.9:33} even as it is written, Behold, I lay in Zion a stone of stumbling and a rock of offence: And he that believeth on him shall not be put to shame. Jesus, the Son of David, as a David, was an offense to all who were to be rejected by God and separated from the Bride. Their jealousy, selfish ambition and idolatry caused them to be easily offended and stumble at Jesus' Word and works.

{1Pe.2:3} if ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious: {4} unto whom coming, a living stone, rejected indeed of men (and their Babylonish ways and religion), but with God elect, precious, {5} ye also, as living stones, are built up a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices (of death to fleshly self), acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. {6} Because it is contained in scripture, Behold, I lay in Zion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: And he that believeth on him shall not be put to shame. (If they reject the Word, they reject Jesus and stumble at Him.)

{7} For you therefore that believe is the preciousness: but for such as disbelieve, The stone which the builders rejected, The same was made the head of the corner; (Jesus in the one the builders reject will be the head.) {8} and, A stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence; for they stumble at the word, being disobedient (Those who stumble at the Word are disobedient and will miss the Bride who truly Follows the Lamb): whereunto also they were appointed. The Lord appoints who will stumble because they have been disobedient. {9} But ye are a elect race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for [God's] own possession, that ye may show forth the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: {10} who in time past were no people, but now are the people of God: who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. {11} Beloved, I beseech you as sojourners and pilgrims, to abstain from fleshly lust, which war against the soul (and make one unqualified for the Bride); {12} having your behavior seemly among the Gentiles; that, wherein they speak against you as evil-doers, they may by your good works, which they behold, glorify God in the day of visitation (which is also in the Man-child).

{13} Be subject to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether to the king, as supreme; {14} or unto governors, as sent by him for vengeance on evil-doers (who miss the Bride) and for praise to them that do well. {15} For so is the will of God, that by well-doing ye should put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: {16} as free, and not using your freedom for a cloak of wickedness, but as bondservants of God. {17} Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.
