Self-Defense or God-Defense?

Merlene Laughlin - 01/09/2017
(David's notes in red)

I had a dream that woke me up being very startled and stirred in my spirit. It seemed that a man and woman had just built another house. The house was finished but the landscaping was not. It was beautiful from the outside and was smaller than the one they had owned but the same rustic look. (The new house represents a new life. It is smaller because they are shedding a lot of stuff from the past life, which is good.) They had invited Don and me to come up to see it. So we meandered through an area that was rather remote and found it.

It was a house by itself for some ways with a lot of woods. (Representing their wilderness life.) The front had a couple piles of red dirt mostly on the left. (This could represent some influence of Edom there, which is an alternative name of Esau meaning "red", a reference to the red skin or the red earth. The Left also can point out the militant left nature of Esau. Two could be the people in the house.) Also to the left were two swings like at a playground. (Playground swings means spiritual immaturity and back and forth is the way some live, never making progress.) These were for adults and were sturdy. They had the heavy black seats and were at the height that could be used by adults. (Sometimes even when we are older and larger, we still spiritually play with kids' toys. We must grow up in the faith.)

As we were getting out of our vehicle, I saw a little boy about seven or eight years old coming from out of the back area. (The Man-child influence will change the disciples' minds about self defense, rather than trust in God.) He had brown hair, a short-sleeve striped t-shirt and blue jeans with legs rolled up a couple of times. (The Man-child is small because he is a small group of leaders. When he is first born, he will quickly grow into the gifts and anointings given to him. The rolled-up legs represent needed room for fast growth. The different color shirt is like Joseph's coat of many colors, representing different attributes of the light or Jesus.)

The man appeared a few seconds later and said to the boy that he would see him later. (The man was following the Man-child. Jesus said in {Joh.16:22} And ye therefore now have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no one taketh away from you.) I thought, "That's strange since there was not another house to be seen". (This leadership will be everywhere. Jesus had no place to lay His head; He was too busy and moved all the time.) In the meantime, the woman came up by the swing where I was. Then she noticed that the little boy had forgotten his shoes and socks nearby. (Like Moses, the Man-child will spiritually take his shoes off because he is on holy ground, representing being in the presence of God.) I was trying to get into her swing but it was positioned too high. She just smiled and said something. (We must become as a child where the high things of the world do not fit us.)

It was then that Don and the man were coming from the right side of the house. Looking on the ground, I noticed a revolver lying there. It reminded me of those used in western movies. It was steel grey, even the handle; there didn't seem to be anything special about it. (Like the pot metal toy Colt .45 revolvers we had as kids. A gun is a kids toy for defense compared to God. Here we see it less revered, lying in the dirt, meaning defending self is an earthly work but it will become a thing of the past for those following the Man-child. Now it's God's defense in the Psalm 91 secret place of the Most High. How could a gun do that? I heard a testimony where a man picked up a hitchhiker and was shot at twice in the car point blank and no bullet touched him. I know another man who was threatened with a gun by some hoodlums. They suddenly looked over his head as if they were seeing something fearful and took off. The man told me he believes they saw a big angel behind him. When I was a kid, I was going to the river with a friend and our.22s to shoot. I was in my dad's old truck back when they were made of thicker steel. My friend started loading up his pistol in the truck as I was driving. Taught to be safety-minded, I just got out of my mouth, "Don't load that gun in here" when POW! -- it went off and we both heard it bounce around the steel cab very quickly. I quickly asked him if he was hit and he looked himself over and said no. I wasn't hit and amazingly no glass got hit nor was there any noticeable damage. We both thought, how can that be? Well, now I know the answer is God. :o)

It's kind of like when I was going 60-70 down a six-lane highway when a car pulled across in front of me. I swerved and sideswiped his bumper down the left side of my car as the guy behind me swerved and went down the right side of my car. It was crushed down both sides and the remnants of the front and rear windows were still there. Somehow I was thrown from my car and slid down the concrete highway for probably 100 feet and stood up at my own driver door without a scratch and the elbows gone out of my jacket. A man told me afterward he looked out of McDonald's as I went by and thought I was in a go-cart running down the concrete highway with my hands on the wheel. It happened so fast I hadn't even taken my hands off the wheel. Both elbows were taken out, so they must have been very close to the concrete but I didn't have a scratch. Well, how can you escape damage like that? We scratched our heads, trying to figure this out but just didn't know at the time. Now I know. :o) Also, it appeared I was translated out of the car because the doors were crushed on both sides and unable to open. I asked my friend, "What happened?" He said, "I don't know. All I know is I was sliding across the seat and bumped into you and then you were gone".

Also, the spiritual aspect of this is very important, too. Many who have pride or fear of rejection are into spiritual self-defense. They pervert circumstances to make themselves appear more acceptable or appreciated by others. Or, worse, they have faction too and do this to put down their enemies. They avoid others, feel unaccepted or threatened by them. They defend self but really they defend that spirit of the fear of rejection as it keeps them in bondage. This seems to be one of the most common demon afflictions today.

I pointed to it so no one would step on it. (So no one would stand trusting in this false support.) But the man just kept walking. Don stopped and picked up a stick nearby and carefully put it through the opening near the trigger. (As though it is unclean and dangerous.) Was it loaded? Was the safety on? Don held it out in front of him as he took a couple of steps. (Being separate from it is sanctified from it. Let's not be defiled by self-defense fears and actions.) The man said that he was going to get it later. (To get it off the premises?) I looked at the woman and my eyes got big. She didn't seem that concerned. (Since this can cost you the protection of God, it is a big thing to be concerned about. Our Lord said, "He that takes the sword shall die by the sword". Also, as a symbol of spiritual self-defense, it will keep you from growing in the Lord, even until you die fruitless.) Don looked at the man as if to say, "Where do you want this?"

The man said, "We're going to have someone stop by to see our new place. (Some people want to hide the fact that they trust in these carnal things because they know they are not spiritual.) So, if you want, you could just put it into your vehicle in the back and I'll get it later". I knew we had a white five-gallon bucket behind my seat. And Don took it out and carefully put the gun into it. Walking from the swing to our vehicle, I saw off to the side another revolver identical to the first, on the ground. (Reminds me of the two western guns with double holsters kids had when I was young and western heroes were glorified on TV. Self-defense was glorified and got into man. Even today some think these shows are harmless. I recently went to a Christian's home whom I had seen several times watching those old westerns. This time I noticed western-style guns on a shelf.)

Don walked over to look at it. I thought, "We can't take these. They're not ours and it isn't safe. (David hadn't proved Saul's armor and sword and left them behind, trusting in the Rock instead. It isn't safe to trust in the arm of the flesh.) We don't want guns in our possession, loaded or not loaded". That's when I woke up. (At least not to be trusted in for defense. Some hunt for food, which is permissible. Those tempted in any way to kill others to save themselves should not have guns. Our Lord said, "He that takes the sword shall die by the sword". It is dangerous to trust in anything other than God. When martial law comes because of earthquakes and anarchy, and they come to your door to collect guns, give them freely or don't have them in the first place. God is not limited by guns to feed you or defend you. See The Sword or the Cross)

The obvious message is that guns should not be relied upon for self-defense when God is our defender and His power is made perfect in our weakness. As we said, these guns could also represent more spiritual ways that men defend self that are not acceptable to God. Rejection spirits always puts one in self-defense mode with our words and how we want to be seen by others. It causes people to lie to others in subtle ways because of fear they will be rejected for something that is not acceptable in that person's sight. These lies are like a drunkard's lies and they are habitual but God said that all liars will have their place in the lake of fire. Rejection and its fear defends the old man and demons so we don't ever grow up in the Lord. Confession and repentance brings Deliverance from Rejection and Its Fear. It's very hard for people with rejection to admit any wrong but that is the way of deliverance. {1Jn.1:9} If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

I just received Merlene's dream the morning of 1/11/17 and this same morning very early I too received a dream of guns being left behind by a young boy returning to Biblical faith. What are the chances of that? Thank you, Lord!

Young in Faith Return to Faith in God
David Eells - 01/11/2017

In a dream or vision, I saw a young boy who had run away from home. (Many come to the Lord of the Bible but run away from home, being quickly led astray by men who prey on their fears of the future, instead of giving them Biblical faith in God as their savior in all things. Their religious leaders cannot give them the faith that they themselves don't have because they are not experienced in the truth or anointed to lead.)

The young boy ran to a man who admired and trusted in guns. The young boy (who symbolized those who are young and small in the faith) began to learn from this man and to look on guns as his security and savior from the evil in the world. He and the man were always talking about and looking at guns. (In many churches today this is the example given by the "pastor" and guns are looked on as an only means of defense, which is dangerous because "He that takes the sword shall die by the sword". (See The Sword or the Cross?)

The young boy became dissatisfied and took one of the guns from the man and began to return home like the prodigal son (who had spent his father's inheritance eating pig slop and fellowshipping with harlots). On the way home, he began to feel that the gun could not be hidden on his person and that the law might catch him having taken the gun from the man. (On a spiritual level, truly the law of God is against us taking anything from the pigs and harlot houses. On a physical level, martial law is in the habit of outlawing guns and taking them up. Also, we have had dreams that people will be beaten or killed for hiding guns when they show up to take them. The warning is obviously to just give it to them or just don't have them.)

So the young boy decided to throw the gun away and go home (obviously to the faith of the Jesus of the New Testament).

Some people of God have hoarded up treasures on earth to trust in for their future. This also is defending self. God's power to save and provide is made perfect in our weakness. This shows why God who is sovereign may have them take up the guns. Of course, when everyone is in need, as we have learned is coming, they will hoard up things to supply their needs. Then, of course, they think they need guns to protect those stores and their family.

Then this next dream given to Sandy Shaw and transcribed by Merlene Laughlin and typed up by husband Don fits very well, showing us that we have a constant supply, if we give to others' needs.

He Will Meet All Needs
Sandy Shaw - 11/29/2016
(David's notes in red)

In this dream, I'm standing on the inside of the front door. There is a knock and I answer it. It's an old man in his 70s who looked like he's been on the road and had been travelling a ways to get here. He had a beard that looked like he had nowhere to shave. He said in a dazed way, "I'm not sure...but I think the Lord...told me to come here". I smiled and turned around and behind me was a closet door. (We must regard every need that comes to us as from God. {1Jn.3:17} But whoso hath the world's goods, and beholdeth his brother in need, and shutteth up his compassion from him, how doth the love of God abide in him? {Luk.6:30} Give to every one that asketh thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.) I opened the door and there was a blanket, pillow and coat. I picked it up and gave it to the man. Also was a brown paper bag with food. (Our own needs will be supplied if we give to others so we can keep on giving. {Luk.6:38} give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, shall they give into your bosom. For with what measure ye mete it shall be measured to you again.) He said, "Thank you, thank you. God bless you. I said, "No, He has blessed you". Then I closed the door. {Php.4:19} And my God shall supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Now another knock at the door: there stood a woman with a baby in arms and four other children. The children had no shoes and clothes were well-worn. She said, "I don't know, but I think the Lord told us to come here". I smiled and turned around and opened the closet door. There were six blankets, six pillows and jackets for each of them and also shoes their size, which they put on immediately. There was a big basket with fruit, vegetables, bread and a huge summer sausage. The two older girls picked up the food basket, the blankets and pillows. The mother said, "Thank you. God bless you". I said, "No, God has blessed you". And I gave her a paper with an address and said to her, "This is where you are to live". Then I closed the door.

Two men came to the door and knocked. I went to the door. These men were workers with special colored vests so they could be easily seen. One said, "I don't know why we're here". The other said, "I think the Lord sent us". I just smiled and turned around and opened the closet door, and what I saw there were two jackets and two brown paper sack lunches. I gave them the jackets and the brown bags. Then I gave them a voucher with their work orders. They said, "O, God bless you". And I said, "No, God has blessed you". And I closed the door.

Then I heard a faint knock at the door and I answered it. And there stood eight children. The youngest is five and the oldest 13 or 14. They had no shoes, no jackets and their clothes had holes. They were very scared and they had no parents. When I saw them, I thought, "Orphans". They had traveled some distance with no shoes but I saw no cuts nor bleeding on their feet -- just dirt. I gestured for them to come in and close the door behind them. I opened the closet door and there were shoes just for them, clothes and jackets. There were two huge oversized brown paper bags that was full of groceries. The two oldest took the bags and then it registered, "Lord, who is going to watch over them? Who is going to prepare their food? They are by themselves. Who is going to take care of them?" (Jesus said in {Mat.25:34} Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: {35} for I was hungry, and ye gave me to eat; I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink; I was a stranger, and ye took me in; {36} naked, and ye clothed me; I was sick, and ye visited me; I was in prison, and ye came unto me. {37} Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, and fed thee? or athirst, and gave thee drink? {38} And when saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? {39} And when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? {40} And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it unto one of these my brethren, even these least, ye did it unto me. {41} Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels: {42} for I was hungry, and ye did not give me to eat; I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink; {43} I was a stranger, and ye took me not in; naked, and ye clothed me not; sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. {44} Then shall they also answer, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? {45} Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not unto one of these least, ye did it not unto me. {46} And these shall go away into eternal punishment: but the righteous into eternal life.

There's a knock at the front door. I opened the door and there stood Sue and Merlene. And Merlene said, "Oh, good, they're here!" Merlene looks at the five-year-old and says, "We're taking you all home". End of dream.

By random: {Isa.49:13} Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for JEHOVAH hath comforted his people, and will have compassion upon his afflicted.

Here is the message of this dream: {2Co.9:6} But this I say, He that soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he that soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. {7} Let each man do according as he hath purposed in his heart: not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. {8} And God is able to make all grace abound unto you; that ye, having always all sufficiency in everything, may abound unto every good work: {9} as it is written, He hath scattered abroad, he hath given to the poor; His righteousness abideth for ever. {10} And he that supplieth seed to the sower and bread for food, shall supply and multiply your seed for sowing, and increase the fruits of your righteousness: {11} ye being enriched in everything unto all liberality, which worketh through us thanksgiving to God. {12} For the ministration of this service not only filleth up the measure of the wants of the saints, but aboundeth also through many thanksgivings unto God; {13} seeing that through the proving of you by this ministration they glorify God for the obedience of your confession unto the gospel of Christ, and for the liberality of your contribution unto them and unto all....
