Steadfastness: Will You be My Lighthouse?

Eve Brast - October 2017

Ever since our 40 day fast ended ... I have been going through some heavy trials and attacks of the enemy through family members and co-workers. The enemy has been keeping me discouraged and distracted at,what I recognize is, a key time in Father’s timeline.

I began to feel bitterness and un-forgiveness creep in as I was distracted with, and focused on, all the disappointment and betrayal that I felt caught up in.

Several of the brethren have prayed with me during this time and continue to hold me up in prayer and Father is helping me to overcome.

On 10/15 for the morning prayer meeting, I had received 1 Thes. 3:13, (my finger was on the word” un-blamable”). When I looked at the text of chapter 3, I felt Father was giving me a word, to comfort me over here in “Athens” and confirming to me the message of steadfastness that He had been speaking to me since the end of the fast. Here it is below:

1 Th. 3: (1-13)  Wherefore when we could no longer forbear, we thought it good to be left behind at Athens alone; 2 and sent Timothy, our brother and God’s minister in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith; 3 that no man be moved by these afflictions; for yourselves know that hereunto we are appointed. 4 For verily, when we were with you, we told you beforehand that we are to suffer affliction; even as it came to pass, and ye know. 5 For this cause I also, when I could no longer forbear, sent that I might know your faith, lest by any means the tempter had tempted you, and our labor should be in vain.

6 But when Timothy came even now unto us from you, and brought us glad tidings of your faith and love, and that ye have good remembrance of us always, longing to see us, even as we also to see you; 7 for this cause, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our distress and affliction through your faith: 8 for now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord. 9 For what thanksgiving can we render again unto God for you, for all the joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God; 10 night and day praying exceedingly that we may see your face, and may perfect that which is lacking in your faith?

11 Now may our God and Father himself, and our Lord Jesus, direct our way unto you: 12 and the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we also do toward you; 13 to the end he may establish your hearts unblameable in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.

He has been speaking to me and dealing with me concerning the importance of steadfastness and being founded on “The Rock.” I feel these trials have been intensified in order to prove me concerning this.

That same morning on 10/15 Barry shared a dream he had that morning where, he was talking to a man who was discouraged and lamenting that he felt as if what he did (his good works) wasn’t making “a difference” and Barry was trying to encourage him. Barry received Job 29:7-17 that morning and he felt is was in reference to the dream:

Job 29:7 (2 -17)  2 Oh that I were as in the months of old, As in the days when God watched over me; 3 When his lamp shined upon my head, And by his light I walked through darkness; 4 As I was in the ripeness of my days, When the friendship of God was upon my tent; 5 When the Almighty was yet with me, And my children were about me; 6 When my steps were washed with butter, And the rock poured me out streams of oil! 7 When I went forth to the gate unto the city, When I prepared my seat in the street, 8 The young men saw me and hid themselves, And the aged rose up and stood; 9 The princes refrained from talking, And laid their hand on their mouth;

10 The voice of the nobles was hushed, And their tongue cleaved to the roof of their mouth. 11 For when the ear heard me , then it blessed me; And when the eye saw me , it gave witness unto me: 12 Because I delivered the poor that cried, The fatherless also, that had none to help him. 13 The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me; And I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy. 14 I put on righteousness, and it clothed me: My justice was as a robe and a diadem. 15 I was eyes to the blind, And feet was I to the lame. 16 I was a father to the needy: And the cause of him that I knew not I searched out. 17 And I brake the jaws of the unrighteous, And plucked the prey out of his teeth.

I shared with the meeting that I had had a similar dream that morning where, I was standing in front of the white refrigerator at our house with Elijah and I was telling him that he needed to drink more water. He kept giving me excuses why he didn’t want to drink the water or that he couldn’t drink the water because of this reason or that and I was starting to feel discouraged in the dream and getting tired of repeating myself, but I persisted and continued to stress the importance of drinking the water.

Then Michael Hare received: Eph. 6:13-20 (10-20)  10 Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might.11 Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.12 For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places .13 Wherefore take up the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;16 withal taking up the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 with all prayer and supplication praying at all seasons in the Spirit, and watching thereunto in all perseverance and supplication for all the saints,19 And on my behalf, that utterance may be given unto me in opening my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel,20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

As I was driving to work that morning, I knew that Father was really driving the message of steadfastness home to me and pulling it together from many different angles. So I asked Him expand on this to solidify it in my mind. At that moment He opened up a vision to me and in a split second I saw it all and understood it more deeply.

In the vision, I saw a lighthouse upon a large rock near the ocean shore. It was a pitch black, stormy night and the rain was beating against it almost sideways. Its light burned bright into the darkness out toward the storm tossed sea. It stood strong and faithful against the elements; always shining its guiding light out to sea. I was as tall as the lighthouse as I was walking toward it and then I was merged into it and I became the lighthouse.

As its light beamed forth from my eyes out upon the wind tossed waves, I saw many wooden ships in distress, being tossed about on the waves. As I focused on these ships, the faces of desperate people appeared where the bows had been. They were intensely focused on my light to avoid being dashed upon the rocky shore.

Father spoke to me and said, "Consider a lighthouse and its steadfastness in the storm. It is reliable, immovable, and ever guiding distressed vessels away from danger… Will you be My lighthouse?”

We may never know on this side of eternity how many distressed vessels were saved because of our faithfulness and unchangable reliability; our steadfastness.

In the end, I’ve had to repent of getting caught up in my own little universe of problems.

Today Father brought me back to a word He had given me during the 40 day fast. I had read it during a meeting at Jeff and Sandy’s. I meant to post it, but it got overlooked in my business. Here it is below:

Father spoke to me and said, "Don’t faint in the day of adversity. Be strong. Take courage, for I have heard the cries and the prayers of my people and I will bring great deliverance. You will see the destruction of the enemy with your own eyes. With your own eyes will you see the mighty works of My hands.

You feel I am far away, but I am very near to you. You wonder if I hear, but I tell you, I have heard and will answer you in ways that you could not conceive of.

Don’t faint ! Believe and keep believing, for blessed are they who have not seen me and yet believe! Give Me all the praise and glory for the battle is already won! And I have given you the victory for I reign victorious forever and ever. I will cause you to contend with horses."

This word reminded me of two verses: Jer. 12:5, If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and though in a land of peace thou art secure, yet how wilt thou do in the pride of the Jordan?

And Rev. 2:3, and thou hast patience and didst bear for my name’s sake, and hast not grown weary.
