Don't Worry ... the Lord Will Supply

David Nelson - 03/08/2012

I was looking into buying a motorcycle, a 1978 Honda Enduro XL 250, to use to travel back and forth to work in order to save on gas. I know gas is going to climb out of sight with the end times fast approaching. Now I drive a Ford Ranger that has a six-cylinder engine in it and it gets about 20 miles a gallon. So, I thought I would look for a way maybe to relieve some of the financial burden we all will see come on us soon by getting a cheaper way to travel around. Plus, when I was a teen I had a motorcycle and I was thinking an Enduro would be fun to have again. The Honda I was looking at buying on craigslist was only $400 and the specs said it gets about 70 miles a gallon. So far so good.

Well, before I made a commitment to buy the bike, I decided to play it safe and ask God if it would be okay for me to buy it. I grabbed my Bible and closed my eyes and asked God to tell me what His thoughts were concerning me buying this bike. When I opened my Bible and put my finger down and then opened my eyes, this is what the Lord gave me for an answer:

(Isa.46:1) Bel boweth down, Nebo stoopeth; their idols are upon the beasts, and upon the cattle: the things that ye carried about are made a load, a burden to the weary beast. (2) They stoop, they bow down together; they could not deliver the burden, but themselves are gone into captivity. (3) Hearken unto me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, that have been borne by me from their birth, that have been carried from the womb; (4) and even to old age I am he, and even to hoar hairs will I carry you; I have made, and I will bear; yea, I will carry, and will deliver.

I decided that the Lord said a definite "no". The Lord is telling me and all of us that He will provide for us all our needs. If we try to help Him out now, it will only be a burden to us and considered an idol to Him because we will be chasing after what the world is going to try and chase after to save themselves.

Thank You, Lord, for being so merciful and forgive me for even considering trying to save myself from the times to come.

With much love and respect for the brethren at UBM and all glory and honor to our God and Father, and also our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, from your brother in faith.

The Lord gave me this scripture on February 11th:

(Psa.40:16) Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: Let such as love thy salvation say continually, The Lord be magnified.
