How to Fly in Heavenly Places

[ audio ]

Kevin Rea - 08/21/2014
(David's notes in red)

[.] In a dream, I was on the top of a large hill. There was a long, grassy field that stretched out for about a mile down to the bottom of the hill. The slope of the field down the hill was a gradual decline. David was there with me and was showing me how to operate an old-style airplane, similar to the kind used by the Wright Brothers at the early beginnings of flight. (See the picture on the right.) (A plane is a way to overcome the law of gravity, which symbolizes the "law of sin and death", the way of the world in clinging to the worldly and earthly ways. Jesus has given the earthbound the way of freedom. {Rom.8:2} For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death. But also it is the old, original way, not the new religious way that works. {Jer.6:16} Thus saith Jehovah, Stand ye in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way; and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls: but they said, We will not walk [therein]. {Jud.3} Beloved, while I was giving all diligence to write unto you of our common salvation, I was constrained to write unto you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered unto the saints. The plane symbolizes the way into heavenly places by abiding in Christ Jesus' Word. {Eph.1:3} Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly [places] in Christ: {4} even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blemish before him in love. The Beast is given authority over those who dwell on earth but those who abide in Christ are in heavenly places; all he can do is speak against them, for they are spiritual men. {Rev.13:6} And he opened his mouth for blasphemies against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle (tabernacles are temporary temples on this earth, which we are), [even] them that dwell in the heaven. (Even though we physically are on this earth, we are spiritually in Heaven when we abide in His Word.) {7} And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and there was given to him authority over every tribe and people and tongue and nation. {8} And all that dwell on the earth shall worship him, [every one] whose name hath not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb that hath been slain. Many so-called Christians live an earthbound life and, whether they know it or not, they worship the life of the beast and as such they are not in the Book of Life. Listen to Dwelling on Earth or in Heaven?)

Most significant to me was there was no identifiable engine to drive the propeller; it just rotated by some unknown energy source. (The way into the heavenly life cannot be engineered by man nor is its power from man. {Act.1:8} But ye shall receive power, when the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea and Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. If you do what they did, you will get what they got. If you get what they got, you will do what they did.

[.] We were also wearing leather flight jackets and helmets (old-style) with goggles similar to the following illustration to the left. (We need protection from every wind of doctrine that comes from man. {Eph.4:11} And he gave some [to be] apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; {12} for the perfecting of the saints, unto the work of ministering, unto the building up of the body of Christ: {13} till we all attain unto the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a fullgrown man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: {14} that we may be no longer children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error; {15} but speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him, who is the head, [even] Christ.)

We were discussing the different aspects of the airplane and how each part affected lift, turning, speed, etc. (Learning to maneuver in heavenly places is learning to walk as a son of God.) After some trial runs I was soon flying pretty well. On my last run, I had mastered it and started climbing higher and higher into the clouds. (The more altitude you have, the harder it will be for the worldly-bound to shoot you down.) I looked back and waved at David. (I was having a good time.) He acknowledged back with an emotional but proud look on his face. End of dream. (Oh, friends, make my day, learn to fly above this world "in heavenly places in Christ", for those who are of the world, religious or not, will try to shoot you down.)
